Recently WhatsApp has released a new version for their web client, bringing the version up to 2.2013.7. It’s a drastic change for the build number, that might suggest a big improvement of the app.

- WhatsApp is working on the feature in the recent few updates, in order to ensure the best bug-free experience for you.
Seen that it’s a feature under development, it’s not available yet in your WhatsApp Web and Desktop update.
After rolling out the Dark theme on the 2.20.13 Android beta and 2.20.30.25 iOS beta updates, WhatsApp was starting to work on the Dark Theme for WhatsApp Web/Desktop too.
First references were found in a previous update and unfortunately the feature is still under development in this update, but it brings new important details.
In the previous screenshot, we didn’t show the toggle to enable the Dark Theme because WhatsApp didn’t implement it yet, but today we have discovered that the toggle is finally under development with the 2.2013.7 version!
There will be a Theme option in WhatsApp Settings > Chats:
If the user selects this option, WhatsApp will show a similar menu presented in WhatsApp for Android:

In this version WhatsApp has also fixed some bugs, for example the background color for emojis wasn’t transparent but it was still white in the screenshot published in the previous article, but it is fixed now:

The Dark Theme is not available yet and it will be enabled in future. Unfortunately, as for any news posted in this website, there isn’t any release date.
