CHANNEL ANALYTICS FEATURE
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.10.20 update, we announced that WhatsApp was rolling out a category feature for the channels directory. This feature is designed to enhance content discovery by automatically organizing channels into relevant categories, simplifying the process for users to explore channels with greater efficiency and precision. It appears that WhatsApp is committed to offering new features for channel owners, aiming at providing detailed statistics to help them understand their audience better. Thanks to the recent versions of WhatsApp Web, we discovered that WhatsApp is now working on a new channel analytics feature!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring a new section to allow channel owners to see insights for their channels, providing them with valuable analytics to better understand their audience and content performance. This includes the number of unique viewers who have seen any of the channel updates at least once, excluding multiple views by the same users. Additionally, it highlights countries with the highest concentration of reached accounts, allowing channel owners to identify where their content is most popular and tailor their strategies accordingly. It is worth noting that this also includes the net change in followers over the last 30 days, calculated by subtracting the number of people who unfollowed the channel or deleted their account from the number of new followers.
In our opinion, this feature will provide channel owners with a clear view of their net follower growth over the past month. These insights will enable channel owners to optimize their content strategies based on audience preferences and geographic data, so they can share more relevant content. With deeper insights from channel analytics, we believe that channel owners can increase user engagement, retain followers more effectively, and potentially attract new followers by addressing the interests and needs of their target demographics.
The channel analytics feature is under development and it will be available in a future update of the web client. We are going to publish another article when we have new details regarding this feature to share with you.
