WhatsApp is working on a group icon editor on Desktop
Recently, we posted a lot of news for the Desktop app, in particular about new business tools. In this article, we will announce a new feature for everyone that has been already released on WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS in the past: the ability to create a group icon right within the desktop app for a future update!

GROUP ICON EDITOR
Last year, WhatsApp has released a new feature that lets group participants create a custom image as a group icon by using a special in-app tool: a group icon editor. The group icon editor has been released to all users on WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS, but this feature was missing on WhatsApp Desktop. Finally, WhatsApp is working on bringing the same feature to the desktop app as well:
As you can see in this screenshot, when you want to choose a different photo to use as a group icon, there will be a new option called "Emoji & sticker". In fact, thanks to WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS, we already know that the group icon edit lets us quickly create an icon by choosing the background color, an emoji, or a sticker. When further details are available, such as additional screenshots, there will be another article on this website.
This feature is under development and it will be released in a future update of WhatsApp Desktop beta.
