WhatsApp is releasing an unread chat filter on Desktop beta
WhatsApp keeps working on a lot of new features on WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop. Today, the company is launching a new chat filter on WhatsApp Desktop beta that lets people filter their chats by showing the ones that contain new incoming messages.

UNREAD CHAT FILTER
Last month, we published an article where we spotted a new chat filter button under development on WhatsApp Desktop beta. In reality, a chat filter feature is already available for businesses, but WhatsApp was planning to make it available to standard WhatsApp accounts as well. WhatsApp is now releasing a chat filter to people that use the beta version of the Desktop app, but it looks different than the one we have shown in the previous article:
In the last few weeks, WhatsApp was planning to release multiple chat filters like the ability to quickly filter groups and non-contacts but, as you can see in this screenshot what we have now is an unread chat filter. If you want to disable the filter, just tap the filter button again or tap "Clear filter".
Unfortunately, we do not know if WhatsApp is planning to offer more chat filters to everyone in the future, but be sure to find an updated article on this website if there is news. Note that WhatsApp is also working on bringing the same feature to WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS, in the future.
The new unread chat filter is available today, so be sure to use the beta version of the Desktop app if you need it right now.
