The official changelog from the App Store mentions that a feature to manually enter a phone number directly in the dialer within the calls tab is available. As shown in the attached screenshot, the feature is located within the calls tab, where users will find a button to create a new call. Tapping this button reveals the "Call a Number" option, which opens the dialer interface. The dialer allows users to manually enter a phone number they wish to call. Once the full number is entered, WhatsApp instantly checks if the number is registered on the platform. If the phone number is associated with a WhatsApp account, it is indicated with a confirmation, and if it belongs to a verified business, a verification badge is also displayed. This provides users with helpful information before initiating a call, as they can instantly know whether the contact is reachable on WhatsApp.

In addition to making calls by manually entering phone numbers, users have other convenient options. They can quickly add the entered number to their contact list without leaving the app, simplifying the process of saving important contacts. Furthermore, WhatsApp provides a shortcut to start a chat with the entered phone number, allowing users to message the contact instead of calling if they prefer.
