A few days ago, the WhatsApp for iOS 23.5.78 update has been released on the App Store. Although the official changelog still reported that voice status updates were rolling out to users for the third time, the update addressed an issue with restoring the chat history. The WhatsApp for iOS 23.5.79 update brings an additional bug-fix update for notifications to some users:
As you can see in this screenshot, some users have reported on Twitter an issue with receiving notifications on WhatsApp, preventing them from getting alerted about new messages. This problem appears to have been introduced in the WhatsApp for iOS 23.5.75 update and it seems it was limited to the business app.
Although the official changelog does not report any news regarding the notification bug, we can confirm that, after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.5.79 update available on the App Store, the bug is finally fixed.
