IMPROVED CALLING

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.19.16 update, we announced a feature that allowed some beta testers to initiate calls with up to 31 participants. Thanks to this feature, WhatsApp has significantly improved group calls by allowing users to quickly connect with a larger number of participants with just a few taps, eliminating the need to add them to the group call later. WhatsApp has recently released the 23.21.72 update for iOS on the App Store. As often happens, the official changelog doesn’t provide useful information regarding which new features are available in this version. However, we just discovered that WhatsApp is widely rolling out improved calling to everyone!

The official changelog still mentions some features released in the previous updates. However, even though it's not mentioned in the official changelog on the App Store, we can now confirm that WhatsApp is releasing the ability to pick up to 31 people before placing a group call. It's worth mentioning that in previous updates, group calls already supported up to 32 participants, but users were initially limited to selecting only 15 contacts when initiating such calls. With the latest updates, users can finally start group calls by experimenting with the full capacity of 32 participants right from the outset, simplifying and enhancing the calling experience.

If you don't have this feature, note that some accounts may receive it over the coming weeks, although it has not been indicated in the official changelog. Please stay ahead by regularly updating WhatsApp from the App Store and the TestFlight app to get this feature in the future in case you don't have it after installing this update.

A feature to initiate group calls with up to 31 participants is available for iOS users who install the latest update of WhatsApp from the App Store. Make sure to install this update to enjoy a better user experience.
