UNDO DELETE FOR ME
WhatsApp just released the 22.19.75 update to iOS users on the App Store and the official changelog reports several new features:
- Now you can sort your chats with an “unread” filter. Tap the new filter icon next to search
- You can now “delete for everyone” for over 2 days
- Increased the group participant limit to 512
- Increased max file size limit to 2GB
- You can now undo “delete for me” for a few seconds
The first 4 features were already available in the previous update but WhatsApp is still mentioning them in the changelog so users can experiment with them if they did not in the past. About the last feature reported in the changelog, it has already been released to some beta testers after installing the WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.18.0.70 update and it is finally available for everyone thanks to the recent WhatsApp for iOS 22.19.75 update from the App Store!
As you can see in this screenshot, it is possible to retrieve messages deleted by mistake when you use "delete for me": in this case, you have a few seconds to use "undo" so the deleted message is back. This feature is very useful when you want to delete a message for everyone but you tap "delete for me" by mistake: this is why the snackbar doesn't show up when you delete a message for everyone.
The ability to retrieve messages that have been deleted by mistake thanks to the undo option is available for all users today so be sure to update the app from the App Store to get the feature.
