REDESIGNED CHAT ATTACHMENT SHEET

In the article about the WhatsApp for iOS 24.25.80 update, we announced that a new gallery interface for sending photo and video albums was available. This revamped gallery introduces a more modern design, allowing users to seamlessly select multiple photos and videos at once without needing to go through the drawing editor. This update also enhances the way albums are created and displayed, as albums can be formed with as few as two media items when a caption is included. It appears that WhatsApp continues to focus on improving the interface of the app, aiming to make it more modern while enhancing user convenience. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.9.10.72 update, which is available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a redesigned interface for the chat attachment sheet!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring the implementation of a revamped interface for the chat attachment sheet, scheduled for release in a future update. Currently, the new gallery interface appears when users tap the camera button in the chat bar of a conversation. However, WhatsApp is now planning to introduce the same redesigned gallery when users access the chat attachment sheet by tapping the "+" button. Unlike the gallery sheet, this new attachment interface includes additional chat sharing options, such as the ability to share documents, locations, and contacts. Furthermore, it provides a direct option to open the camera, allowing users to take a photo or record a video without needing to navigate back to the main chat screen.

Another notable addition to this redesigned interface is a date indicator that clearly displays the month and year of the photos and videos currently being viewed, providing users with better context while browsing their media. This feature is designed to enhance navigation by allowing users to quickly and efficiently scroll through their entire media collection without unnecessary delays. By interacting with the date indicator, users will be able to seamlessly jump to a specific month and year, eliminating the need for manually scrolling through the full list of photos and videos. This improvement will make it significantly easier for users to locate older media, especially for those with extensive galleries, as it introduces a more structured and intuitive way to browse past content.

Currently, the options to create polls and events do not appear to be available in this redesigned attachment interface, suggesting that these features have not yet been integrated into the new layout. However, since the feature is still in development, it is to be expected that certain functionalities remain incomplete or are undergoing further refinement before their official introduction. If the update were fully developed and ready for public use, WhatsApp would have likely already begun rolling it out to users rather than keeping it in the testing phase. We anticipate that additional refinements and interface improvements will be made in the coming weeks before the feature is eventually made available to beta testers in a future update.

A redesigned interface for the chat attachment sheet is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. We will keep you updated on any further developments about this feature until it's officially released.
