MULTI-ACCOUNT
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.2.10.70 update, we announced that a multi-account feature was under development. This upcoming feature aims to simplify the process for users who manage multiple phone numbers, whether for personal, professional, or other purposes. Instead of relying on workarounds like using WhatsApp Business for a secondary number, users will soon be able to add and manage multiple accounts directly within the app in the future. Although it is still in development, it seems that WhatsApp is actively refining this feature before its official release to beta testers to provide them with an optimized experience from the outset. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.9.10.70 update, which is available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a feature to add and manage multiple user accounts!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring the implementation of a feature that will allow users to add a second account directly from the app settings, scheduled for release in a future update. At the moment, WhatsApp is focusing on adding a new section to the app that will allow users to easily add a second account. This functionality will be integrated into the settings page, making it easier for users to manage multiple accounts without needing to switch devices or rely on WhatsApp Business. One important aspect of this update is that WhatsApp might redesign the settings page to accommodate this new feature. In addition, users will see their profile picture displayed in the settings tab bar once they add a second account, allowing them to quickly differentiate between accounts.
WhatsApp is currently working on two primary methods to add a second account. The first option will allow users to set up the second account as a new profile by registering with a phone number, just like they did with the primary account. The second option will enable users to link a new account by scanning a QR code from their primary device, effectively turning the second account into a companion account that is synced with the main one.
As previously mentioned in another article, the new multi-account feature will also ensure that the settings for each account remain separate, preventing any confusion between the two accounts. For example, notifications, backups, auto-download media settings, and other preferences will be distinct for each account, giving users full control over how each profile behaves. This separation will allow users to keep their personal and professional accounts organized and distinct from one another, as each account will have its own dedicated settings, notifications, and preferences.
Additionally, WhatsApp is ensuring that each account has its own chat history and notification settings, so users won't mix up messages from different accounts. This means you’ll be able to have different tones and alert settings for each account, further improving the user experience. Furthermore, each account will be able to manage its own backups, ensuring that messages, media, and other data are not mixed between accounts.
At this stage, WhatsApp is still working on fine-tuning these features to ensure smooth performance across devices and accounts. This includes optimizing the sync process, ensuring that profile changes, messages, and notifications are seamlessly integrated between accounts. Users can expect frequent updates as WhatsApp prepares this feature for its official release, although an exact launch date has not yet been announced.
A feature to add and manage multiple user accounts is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. We will keep you updated on any further developments about this feature until it's officially released.
