WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.19.10.79: what's new?

WhatsApp has released a new iOS update through the TestFlight beta Program, bringing the version up to 25.19.10.79.

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.18.17 update, we announced that a feature to filter chats that contain drafts is under development. This feature will allow users to quickly access all conversations with unsent draft messages through a dedicated filter. By selecting this filter, users can instantly view a list of chats where they have started typing but haven't yet sent their messages, eliminating the need to scroll through their entire chat list. It appears that WhatsApp now intends to bring the same message draft filtering functionality to iOS users in the future, ensuring a consistent experience across both platforms. Following the release of the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.19.10.80 update, which is available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a feature to search for draft messages through a preset chat list!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring the implementation of a feature that will add a new dedicated draft list within the chats tab, scheduled for release in a future update. This new list will allow users to quickly filter and view all chats containing unsent messages, referred to as "drafts". Draft messages are created when a user types something in the chat input field but leaves it unsent. This often happens because users intend to send the message later or want to add more information before sending.

In a previous update, WhatsApp introduced a green draft label to help users identify these messages more easily. However, finding all chats with drafts can still be complicated, especially when the chats tab holds many conversations or some of the draft messages are old. To address this, the new draft list will filter chats to display only those with unsent messages, making it easier for users to locate and manage drafts. This new filter will save users time and reduce the frustration of searching through numerous conversations.

It's worth noting that users will have full control over this filter: they can add it to their chats tab or remove it directly from the chat list settings. Since this is a preset filter created by WhatsApp, it can be re-enabled at any time if the user's preferences change. This feature will be especially helpful for people who handle many conversations and often leave draft messages across multiple chats. Additionally, it aims to make revisiting pending chats easier and to ensure that no important communication is missed.
