As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring the implementation of a feature that will allow users to generate message summaries, scheduled for release in a future update. When the message summarization feature becomes available, a dedicated summary button will appear within the chat interface whenever there are new unread messages. By tapping this button, users will be able to generate a concise summary of all recent messages, helping them quickly catch up on what they missed.

The summarization process will be handled entirely through Meta's Private Processing architecture, ensuring that the content of the messages is processed in a fully private and secure manner. Each step of the processing workflow is designed to be highly protected, safeguarded by multiple layers of encryption and secure computation methods. Moreover, the system guarantees complete anonymity, so neither Meta nor WhatsApp can access the content of the messages or link any request to a specific user account. This approach preserves user privacy while upholding the integrity of end-to-end encryption, ensuring that message confidentiality is never compromised.

The ability to summarize messages will be particularly helpful for users who frequently receive a large volume of messages, especially in busy group chats or active channels where conversations evolve rapidly. In these situations, keeping up with every single message can become overwhelming and time-consuming, making it difficult for users to stay engaged.
