Following the release of the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 25.12.10.72 update, which is available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out a feature to scroll through the list of unread channels!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, some beta testers can now take advantage of an improved navigation tool that simplifies channel browsing. When all updates from a specific channel have been read, a new shortcut button appears at the bottom of the screen. This button gives users the option to immediately move to the next available channel with fresh content. In addition to tapping the button, users can also swipe upward on the update list to trigger the transition to the next channel. This new functionality eliminates the need to return to the main channel list and manually select the next channel to open, as it saves time and provides a much smoother flow when navigating through multiple channels.

It's very important to note that this shortcut only navigates to channels that contain unread updates. Channels that have already been fully viewed are automatically skipped. This ensures that users are only directed to content they haven't seen yet, making the experience more efficient and focused on new updates. It also helps users avoid redundant browsing and keeps them engaged with the most relevant updates. This feature is especially useful for those who follow a large number of channels and want to stay up-to-date with minimal effort. However, this selective behavior may currently be available only to certain beta testers, although switching directly to channels with unread updates is expected to become the default to all users in future releases.

It's also worth noting that this shortcut will not appear when viewing your own channel. This is because the lower part of the screen in personal channels is reserved for sharing new updates. This means the new tool is available only to channel followers, making it unavailable when viewing your own channel. The shortcut is designed to enhance the browsing experience, not for those managing their own channel, where the focus is on sharing updates. As a result, the feature is context-aware and only activates when it's relevant to the user's role.

A feature to scroll through the list of unread channels is available to some beta testers who install the latest versions of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app, and it's rolling out to more people over the coming weeks.
