PIN CHANNELS
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.4.3 update, we announced a new feature in development to pin channels. This feature was designed to enhance user experience by allowing them to prioritize important channels and access them more conveniently at the top of the list. Although this feature is still under development on WhatsApp beta for Android, it seems that WhatsApp is now in the process of bringing the same channels pinning feature to the iOS app as well, as discovered in the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.8.10.75 update from the TestFlight app.
As you can see in the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is experimenting with a feature to allow users to pin their favorite channels at the top of the list, set for release in a future update of the app. Initially, users will be able to pin up to a maximum of 3 channels, with the potential for future expansion to 5 channels to highlight more important channels. However, it's very important to note that the enhancement to pin more than 3 channels at the top of the section is currently speculative and subject to change, since this feature is still in development.
In our opinion, this feature will elevate the user experience for those who often engage with WhatsApp channels. When a channel is pinned at the top of the list, it remains visible and easily accessible, ensuring that users can quickly navigate to their preferred channels without having to scroll through the entire list. By pinning favorite channels, users will have the ability to prioritize and highlight the channels that are most important or frequently accessed. In addition, we anticipate that this feature will assist users in better organizing their channels based on relevance or priority, ensuring that the most crucial channels are consistently available at the top of the list according to their individual preferences.
