CHANNELS LIST
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.4.19 update, we announced that WhatsApp was rolling out a fresh interface for the channels list. With this enhancement, WhatsApp aimed to make the interface more intuitive and familiar with the introduction of a layout reminiscent of the chats tab, improving navigation in the updates tab. After installing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.6.10.71 update, which is available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out the same fresh interface for the channels list to some beta testers!

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring a new interface for the channels list by removing media preview within the cell, making it simpler and more compact. This refreshed layout also mirrors the design of the chats tab, providing users with a more familiar navigation experience by through scrolling the list of followed channels. While this list exactly mirrors the interface of the chats tab, it seems that the option to pin channels at the top is currently unavailable, hinting at its potential release in a future update.
We believe that WhatsApp continues its commitment to improving user navigation by regularly introducing new improvements for the interface in the updates tab. The introduction of this revamped channels list aims to enhance access to the updates tab, facilitating easier identification and interaction with new content. In our opinion, this dedication to refinement definitely improves user satisfaction and coherence in the overall WhatsApp experience, showcasing ongoing efforts and simplifying navigation in the updates tab.
A fresh interface for the channels list is available to some beta testers who install the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app, and it's rolling out to more people over the coming days.
