In the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.3.10.70 update, we announced a new feature in development: the ability for users to mark favorite contacts. This improvement aims to enhance the process of initiating calls with preferred contacts directly from the calls tab, making it as simple as a single tap to start a phone call from there. While this feature is currently under development, it seems that WhatsApp is also considering to introduce additional features specifically designed for favorite contacts, as discovered in the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.4.10.76 update from the TestFlight app.

As you can see in the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is in the process of developing a chat filter feature to help users manage their conversations with favorite contacts more efficiently. Thanks to the new chat filter, users will be able to quickly access and prioritize conversations with their favorite contacts in a future update, ensuring they never miss important messages from them. It is important to mention that this feature is not limited to the iOS app as it will also be included in an upcoming update of WhatsApp Web.

We believe that the introduction of the capability to designate favorite contacts will offer significant benefits for users handling numerous conversations with a dedicated chat filter. By allowing users to mark specific contacts as favorites, WhatsApp will make it easier to prioritize important conversations, ensuring convenient access to those with whom they frequently engage. The addition of favorite contacts will allow users to customize their messaging experience to suit their preferences, ensuring they can always stay connected with their most important contacts while managing their conversations efficiently.

The chat filter feature for favorite contacts is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. We will keep you updated if there is any update related to this feature.
