With the latest update, WhatsApp is introducing the same entry point into the menu where users can select contacts to call. In this section, users will find an option to open the dialer, allowing them to enter the phone number they wish to call. Once the number is entered, WhatsApp performs a search to determine if the phone number is registered on the platform. If the number corresponds to a verified business account, WhatsApp will also display the blue verification checkmark, confirming the authenticity of the app.

The in-app dialer allows users to make calls directly without needing to save the number in their contact list. This is particularly useful for quick interactions or one-time calls, where saving the number to the address book may be unnecessary or inconvenient. For example, users might need to call a business or service only once and do not want their contact list cluttered with temporary entries. This feature helps WhatsApp enhance the process by letting users simply type the phone number and initiate the call immediately.
