STICKER PROMPT - STATUS UPDATE
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.23.21 update, we announced that WhatsApp was working on feature to share prompts using a sticker through status updates. This feature will allow users to create fun and interactive challenges for their contacts, encouraging them to participate by posting their own content. By adding these prompts, users will be able to spark creative interactions with others through engaging and personal status updates. While this feature is still in development on WhatsApp beta for Android, it appears that WhatsApp has plans to bring this content sticker to the iOS app as well, aiming to provide a consistent experience across both platforms. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.23.10.73 update, which is available from the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a sticker feature to introduce prompts through status updates!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is developing a new "Add Yours" sticker for the drawing editor, scheduled for release in a future update of the app. This content sticker will be available when attempting to share a status update, allowing users to set a theme, question, or activity that others can respond to by posting their own updates. Similar to the "Add Yours" sticker on Instagram, it will create an interactive chain, encouraging users to share their own content in response to the original prompt.
For example, a user could post a status update asking their contacts to share a photo of their favorite holiday destination, and anyone who taps the sticker would be able to upload their own content. This feature will make the status feature more engaging while creating a fun and spontaneous way to interact with contacts. The challenge could be anything from sharing a funny moment to showing off a creative hobby, offering endless possibilities for participation. It is important to mention that this feature has been built with privacy in mind, making it one of the most important aspects. Since WhatsApp status updates are end-to-end encrypted, user privacy is protected throughout the interaction. This means that there will be no way to track or identify who has shared or responded to a prompt. The audience of a status update won't be able to see who initiated the chain or what exactly was shared by others who participated. This ensures that all interactions are kept private, with only the selected audience able to view the content.
A sticker feature to introduce prompts through status updates is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. We will keep you updated on any further developments about this feature until it's officially released.
