The widget allows for instant access to favorite chats and groups, making communication faster and more organized thanks to the flexibility to manage its configuration. This new widget also integrates into the Home Screen, making certain conversations even more accessible. In addition to the flexibility and convenience of these new widgets, users can also choose different widget sizes based on their preferences. For example, a small widget might include quick access to only two contacts or group chats, perfect for users who want a minimal experience. Alternatively, a larger widget can display up to four contacts or group chats, providing more comprehensive access to important conversations right from the Home Screen. This customization allows users to decide which widget works best for their needs, whether they want a more focused interface or a larger widget with more contacts visible at a glance.

It is important to note that users can even choose to use both widgets simultaneously, or use the same widget more than once, each configured to show different types of conversations. For example, one widget can display recent chats for quick access to ongoing conversations, while another widget can be set to show favorite contacts or group chats for easy access to the most important connections.

An improved widget feature to access chats is available to some beta testers who install the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app, and it's rolling out to more people over the coming days.
