CREATE AND EXPLORE NEW CHANNELS
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.11.8 update, we announced that WhatsApp was rolling out a feature to quickly explore new channels. With this new update, some beta testers can access a partially redesigned interface for the updates tab, featuring a new shortcut that makes the exploration of new channels promptly visible and accessible. It appears that WhatsApp now intends to offer iOS users the same opportunity to explore new channels through a new entry point, as it already does for the Android version. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.14.10.79 update, which is available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out new shortcuts to create and explore channels!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp has introduced a new button to allow users to quickly explore new channels, making it more visible and accessible. Additionally, the option to create channels has been moved to the context menu within the navigation bar, as the previous entry point in the main interface is no longer available. Similar to the Android update we mentioned in our previous story, this change might confuse users who are accustomed to the old location for channel creation. As a result, we believe that highlighting these minor updates is still important to clarify this transition.
Making the option to explore channels more visible significantly enhances user engagement by simplifying content discovery. By positioning this button prominently next to the channel title, users can easily find and follow channels that align with their interests and preferences. This increased visibility also encourages users to explore a broader range of content, as they are more likely to discover and interact with new channels they might have otherwise missed. We believe that extending this change to WhatsApp for iOS also ensures a consistent experience across different platforms, allowing all users to benefit from the improved content discovery features.
A feature to quickly explore new channels is available to some beta testers who install the latest versions of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app, and it's rolling out to more people over the coming weeks.
