MANAGE AND PIN CHANNELS

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.13.3 update, we announced that WhatsApp was rolling out a feature to pin up to two channels. Through this improvement, users can gain greater control over their channel interactions, allowing them to pin channels for easier access to important or frequently visited content. It appears that WhatsApp now intends to offer iOS users the same opportunity to pin important channels as it already does for the Android version. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.14.10.78 update, which is available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out a feature to manage and pin channels!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, some beta testers on iOS can now explore this new feature, which allows them to pin channels to the top of their channels list. However, there is a limitation of up to two pinned channels to prevent users from cluttering their channels list. This restriction ensures that the pinned section remains useful and easily manageable, allowing users to prioritize their most important updates without overwhelming their interface. While this feature currently supports pinning up to two channels, there is potential for WhatsApp to expand this limit in the future. However, it's important to note that this possibility is purely speculative at this time.

We believe that users can save time and enhance their navigation experience within the updates tab by pinning their preferred channels to the top of the list. This new feature facilitates quick access to the most important channels, making it easier for users to stay informed and connected with their favorite channels. In addition, users can easily manage their channels by quickly marking them as unread and unmuting them to further enhancing their ability to stay organized. This feature also supports bulk actions via the context menu, including a new option to quickly select multiple channels to perform certain actions simultaneously.

A feature to manage and pin channels is available to some beta testers who install the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app, and it's rolling out to more people over the coming weeks.
