CHANNEL ADMIN
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.23.7 update, we announced that WhatsApp was working on a feature to allow channel owners to add new admins to their channels. This enhancement was designed to grant channel owners advanced administrative control and improved delegation capabilities. After installing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.25.10.70 update, which is available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is now rolling out the ability to invite new admins to channels to some beta testers!

As you can see in this screenshot, some beta testers may experiment with a new "Invite Admins" feature within the channel info screen, which allows channel owners to assign administrative privileges to selected contacts for their channels, with the flexibility to invite up to 15 contacts. It's worth noting that the designated contact must accept the invitation before obtaining administrative access to the channel. When the invite is accepted, they get the ability to modify essential channel details, including the name, icon, and description. In addition, channel admins can edit channel settings, controlling which emojis are permitted for reactions within the channel.
In our opinion, this update extends beyond administrative tasks, allowing admins to actively contribute to the channel's content creation. They have the ability to generate and share content while also managing channel updates, whether their own or those shared by other admins, by editing or deleting them. It's important to mention some limitations in admin capabilities, such as the inability to add or remove other admins and the restriction from deleting the entire channel. We believe that these controls definitely ensure a balanced approach by facilitating collaborative channel management while preserving essential safeguards for the channel.
It's also important to note that more users may be able to experiment with a voice message transcription feature. This feature was available to some beta testers with the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.9.0.70 update 7 months ago. Finally, it appears that WhatsApp is rolling out the ability to transcribe voice messages to additional users who install the most updated version of the app.
The feature to allow channel owners to invite new admins is available to some beta testers who install the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app, and it is rolling out to more people over the coming weeks.
