WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.23.0.71: what's new?

WhatsApp has just submitted a new update through the TestFlight beta Program, bringing the version up to 22.23.0.71. The version marked within WhatsApp Settings is 2.22.23.71 and the TestFlight build is 22.23.0 (414317921).
What's new in this update? WhatsApp is releasing the ability to set up an avatar, a new way to be you on WhatsApp, to some lucky beta testers!

10 days ago, WhatsApp released the ability to set up an avatar to some lucky beta testers after installing the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.23.9 update, a new way to be you on WhatsApp thanks to a new digital expression. Unfortunately, due to some bugs when setting up an avatar, WhatsApp decided to temporarily disable the feature in order to address the issue. Finally, WhatsApp is releasing the ability to set up an avatar to some lucky beta testers after installing the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.23.0.71 update from the TestFlight app!

As you can see in this screenshot, you can open WhatsApp Settings to quickly discover if the feature is enabled for your WhatsApp account: in case the feature is available for your account, you can start setting up an avatar today. After setting up your avatar, you can start sending stickers by using your configuration and you can also choose an avatar to use as a profile photo. Remember that creating an avatar is optional so you're always in control of how you use it.

The ability to set up an avatar has been released to some beta testers after installing the latest beta update from the TestFlight app and it is rolling out to more users over the coming weeks. Since this feature has been enabled for some beta testers on WhatsApp beta for iOS, probably it will be available again on WhatsApp beta for Android very soon so keep your version up to date.
