WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.20.0.72: what's new?
WhatsApp has just submitted a new update through the TestFlight beta Program, bringing the version up to 22.20.0.72. The version marked within WhatsApp Settings is 2.22.20.72 and the TestFlight build is 22.20.0 (400429797).
What's new in this update? WhatsApp is working on configuring an avatar, for a future update of the app!

Some hours ago, we posted a new article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.21.3 update. This update doesn't offer something new to users but it brings useful information about a future feature on WhatsApp: avatars. The ability to create an avatar is not available on iOS since it is under development but thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.20.0.72 update, we are now able to show the same news on iOS:
Thanks to avatars, you can express yourself on WhatsApp by creating an identity based on your look so you can use it as a sticker and it will be possible to configure it right within WhatsApp Settings. After configuring the avatar, WhatsApp will automatically create a personalized sticker pack based on your chosen configuration. In addition, you will also be able to use your avatar as profile photo and as a mask during video calls in the very distant future.
As we said about the latest Android beta update, the feature that lets us create an avatar is also under development on WhatsApp beta for iOS and it will be released in a future update of the app. When further information about avatars is available, we will post another article in the future.
