WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.16.0.71: what's new?
WhatsApp has just submitted a new update through the TestFlight beta Program, bringing the version up to 22.16.0.71. The version marked within WhatsApp Settings is 2.22.16.71.

QUICK REACTIONS
Last week, we shared with you the details about quick reactions, a new feature under development on WhatsApp Desktop beta and WhatsApp beta for Android. Thanks to quick reactions, people will be able to send reactions to status updates by picking an emoji.
Today, thanks to the recent WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.16.0.71 update, we discovered that the feature is also under development on the iOS beta build, available in a future update of the app:
As you can see in this screenshot, when you want to reply to a status update in a future version of WhatsApp beta for iOS, you will be able to react to the status update by choosing one of the 8 available emojis: Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes, Face with Tears of Joy, Face with Open Mouth, Crying Face, Folded Hands, Clapping Hands, Party Popper, and Hundred Points. When you react to the message, it is immediately sent to the chat in the form of a message reply.
Unfortunately, this feature is under development so we do not know when it will be rolled out to beta testers. There will be another article when the feature is finally released or if we have further details to share with you.
