This feature aims to provide users with a more seamless and intuitive way to interact with Meta AI through a redesigned interface. The mentioned update revealed a new composer bar in development, which organizes essential tools for engaging with Meta AI, making conversations smoother and more efficient. Although the feature is still in development, it seems that WhatsApp is actively refining it before its official release to beta testers to provide them with an optimized experience from the outset. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.5.22 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on an enhanced experience to chat and talk with Meta AI!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp keeps exploring the implementation of a dedicated Meta AI screen that will improve the way users interact with the chatbot, scheduled for release in a future update. Specifically, users will be able to launch this new screen by long-pressing the Meta AI floating action button from the chat list, providing a quick and seamless way to access AI-powered assistance without needing to open the traditional chat. This shortcut will provide a faster and more direct way to engage with the chatbot using voice, as the chatbot can start listening to the prompt immediately upon opening the dedicated screen, without requiring any manual activation.

It is important to note that Meta AI will only be able to listen to your voice when this dedicated screen is open. If the user is outside this screen, the chatbot will not have the ability to listen. This ensures that users have full control over when Meta AI can actively process voice input, preventing any unintended or background listening. To enhance transparency, the Android OS will display a privacy indicator in the status bar whenever Meta AI is actively listening. Since this indicator is controlled by the operating system, no app can intercept or alter its behavior to mask or hide its activity. This provides users with a clear and reliable visual cue, reassuring them that their microphone is in use only when necessary and only while the enhanced Meta AI screen is open.

Additionally, users will have the ability to stop the listening mode at any time. With a simple tap on the microphone button or by entering text in the input field, it is possible to switch from voice interaction to text-based chat, providing greater flexibility in how users can communicate with the AI. This dedicated Meta AI screen will also include the option to configure the chatbot's voice directly from the interface. This will eliminate the need to navigate through the chatbot info screen, making it easier to personalize the voice interaction. This new experience will also simplify access to Meta AI, making the experience user-friendly, faster, and more intuitive. Users will no longer have to manually enter a chat and select a mode of interaction, as the AI will be instantly ready to assist upon opening the dedicated screen in the future.
