It seems that WhatsApp is interested in adding more content-driven stickers for status updates, aligning its user experience more closely with Instagram Stories. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.3.10 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a feature to add sticker photos to status updates!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring the implementation of a feature to add sticker photos to status updates, scheduled for release in a future update. This new feature will allow users to add multiple photos in a single status update by using the new content sticker, making it easier to share a collection of moments at once. Unlike the traditional way of posting separate status updates, this feature will let users overlay sticker-like images onto their status, offering a more creative and dynamic way to present their updates. Moreover, users will also be able to add sticker photos over videos shared via status updates, making this feature not limited to just images. This will allow for even more engaging and interactive updates, as users can enhance their videos with additional images.

The sticker photo will be resizable and movable, giving users creative freedom to arrange it in different ways, positioning and sizing the sticker as they prefer. This could be useful for sharing multiple moments in a single update, such as a collection of trip highlights, different angles of the same scene, or a series of related images. It will also be available in various shapes, including square, circular, and even star-shaped formats, giving users more flexibility in how they want to design their status updates. This will offer users a more personalized experience with status updates in the future, allowing them to layer their images creatively, similar to how stickers and overlays work in Instagram Stories.
