STATUS AND CHANNEL ADS REPORT
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.19.14 update, we announced that a feature that allows users to manage ad preferences for status and channels is under development. This feature will give users more control over their advertising experience by letting them view a detailed history of ads they've seen, including the ability to hide ads from specific advertisers and restore them later if desired. Accessible through both the Updates tab and main settings, the ad preferences section will also ensure that personal communications remain separate from ad targeting. This feature is currently under development, but WhatsApp appears to be quickly refining it ahead of its official beta release, aiming to provide users with a more optimized experience from the outset. Following the release of the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.19.15 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a feature to request an account report for status and channel ads!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring the implementation of a feature that will allow users to request a detailed report regarding the ads viewed in both Status and Channels, scheduled for release in a future update. This new option will be integrated directly into the "Request account info" section within the app settings, which is typically used to generate a downloadable report containing information about the account settings. In a future update, this section will also include an option to request a report related to advertising data, offering users insights into the ads they've seen across Status and Channels.
With this update, users will be able to generate and download a full report that includes information about all the ads displayed to them through Status and Channels. The report will likely detail which ads appeared, on what date, and which advertisers were involved. Once generated, the report can be exported as a standard ZIP file format, making it easier for users to open and review in other applications outside of WhatsApp. This makes it ideal for users who want to keep a local archive or perform personal analysis of their ad exposure. Typically, WhatsApp will take around three days to prepare the ads report after the user places a request. This time is necessary for the server to queue the request and process it, but WhatsApp will also display an estimated delivery time so that users know when the report is likely to be ready.
In addition to on-demand reports, WhatsApp is also planning to offer an automatic report generation feature for the ads report. This option will allow users to receive a new ad report every month, without needing to manually request it. The monthly report will be available in the same "Request account info" section and will follow the same process used for other report types. This automation will be especially useful for users who want to stay regularly informed without the risk of forgetting to initiate a report request.
A feature to request an account report for status and channel ads is under development and it will be available in a future update. We will keep you updated with an additional article as soon as we have more details to share about this feature.
