WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.17.24: what's new?

WhatsApp has released a new Android update through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.25.17.24.

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.22.5 update, we announced that a feature to filter chats through custom lists was available. This feature enables users to create personalized lists directly from the chats list using a new button, allowing for better organization and quicker access to specific conversations. Once a list is created, WhatsApp automatically generates a corresponding filter that appears at the top of the chats list, making it easy to view only the selected contacts and groups associated with that list. It appears that WhatsApp is committed to introducing additional filters in the Chats tab, aiming to give users more powerful tools to manage their conversations more effectively. Following the release of the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.17.24 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on an optional feature to filter AI-powered chatbots!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring the implementation of a feature that will add a new filter dedicated to AI interactions, scheduled for release in a future update. The new filter will be automatically integrated into the Chats tab once it becomes available in the future, requiring no manual setup from the user. This ensures that users will immediately be able to take advantage of the feature and start managing their AI-related conversations more efficiently from the moment it's rolled out.

It's important to note that this filter is entirely optional. Even though it will be added automatically when rolled out (unless the development plans change), users will retain full control over its presence. If users decide they don't need this filter, they will easily be able to remove it at any time directly from the app settings. Since user needs may evolve over time, WhatsApp will also allow this AI filter to be re-added at any point. Users can revisit the same settings screen where they removed it and enable it again with just a tap. This is a preset filter, so it remains permanently available in the system, even if not currently active, ensuring that access can be restored effortlessly.

This new AI-handoff filter is designed to aggregate all chats involving interactions with AI tools or bots into one easily accessible view. It will offer a streamlined way to keep track of AI-related conversations, making it easier for users to locate and revisit chats powered by artificial intelligence. By consolidating these interactions, the filter enhances organization and ensures that AI-driven conversations are readily available when needed.
