The reports will be fully processed on the user's device and will provide technical transparency on how secure sessions were initiated, what data was used, and how the information remained confined within a secure and private environment. Although this feature is still in development, WhatsApp appears to be actively refining these activity reports ahead of its official beta release, aiming to provide users with a more optimized experience from the outset. Following the release of the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.17.10 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a feature to export activity reports for Private Processing!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring the implementation of a feature that will introduce an option to export activity reports directly on the device, scheduled for release in a future update. With this feature, users will have significant control over how much activity they want to include in the report. Specifically, they will be able to choose to export a log that contains data generated over the last 15 minutes or extend the scope to include up to the last 3 days.

The 15-minute option will be particularly useful for reviewing a single interaction, such as when a user quickly wants to verify how a recent summary or writing suggestion was processed. On the other hand, the 3-day report will be helpful for those who wish to analyze a broader pattern of AI-powered activity or review multiple interactions over time. This flexibility ensures that users can tailor the report to suit both quick checks and more comprehensive reviews.

It's important to note that all reports are generated locally on the user device, as this ensures that no data is sent to WhatsApp or Meta during the creation or export process. Once exported, the user will be able to decide where and how to access the report, as it can be easily ported into another app of their choice. For example, users might store it in a secure notes app for future reference or open it temporarily in a document reader for a quick look. This portability is designed to give users both control and convenience, allowing them to manage their privacy-related data in the way that best suits their needs.
