Following the release of the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.13.2 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out a feature to browse channel photos, videos, GIFs, and links!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, some beta testers can explore a new feature that allows them to conveniently browse all media and links shared within a channel. With the previous update, both followers and channel admins had to scroll through the entire channel history to find specific photos, videos, or links. This process was time-consuming and frustrating in certain situations, especially when searching for media in channels that frequently share a high volume of updates. The lack of a dedicated media and links section made it difficult for users to quickly locate important content, especially if they couldn’t recall any specific text to help narrow down the search.

To address this issue, WhatsApp has introduced a dedicated section for media and links within the channel info screen. This section operates in a similar way to the one already available in the chat info screen for individual and group conversations. By accessing this section, users can easily scroll through all photos, videos, and GIFs shared in a channel without having to manually search through older updates. Additionally, links are organized in a separate tab, making it easier to find and revisit important webpages shared within the channel.

This improvement is expected to significantly enhance the user experience by making content retrieval faster and more efficient. Users will no longer need to remember the exact date or context of a shared media file or link, as they can now locate them in just a few taps. The new feature can also be particularly useful for channels that share frequent announcements, news updates, or multimedia content, ensuring that users can always access relevant information with ease.
