WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.9.9: what's new?

Although it is still in development, it seems that WhatsApp is now working on further refining this feature by adding the ability to create verified channels, as discovered in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.9.9 update from the Google Play Store.

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp is in the process of developing a new feature to create verified channels, scheduled for release in a future update of the app. The name of the verified channel will have to start with the legal business name, ensuring consistency and clarity for users. It is important to note that these businesses will have to subscribe to the optional Meta Verified plan to take advantage of a verified badge for their channel and more enhancements for their accounts, as mentioned in the article covering the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.1.21 update.

In our opinion, allowing businesses to create a verified channel through the Meta Verified subscription will provide them with a tangible way to demonstrate their credibility and authenticity to their customers. By displaying a verified badge on their WhatsApp channel, businesses will be able to immediately establish trust with users, reassuring them that they are interacting with a legitimate entity. This can be particularly beneficial for small and medium-sized businesses looking to compete in crowded markets, as it gives them a competitive edge by enhancing their brand reputation and credibility.
