NEW EMOJIS
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.3.13 update, we announced that WhatsApp was releasing a fix for an issue that prevented users from sharing videos and status updates. This update also added support to emojis from the latest Unicode 15.1, although they were only visible in text messages to prevent emojis from appearing as blank spaces, unsupported characters, or question marks. After installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.6.7 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is releasing new emojis from the latest Unicode 15.1, making them available in the emoji keyboard!

As you can see in this screenshot, new emojis from the latest Unicode 15.1 are finally visible within the emoji keyboard. While WhatsApp already technically supported these emojis with the past updates, as the app could handle the Unicode 15.1 emojis in text messages, users couldn't see them on their emoji pickers. However, thanks to the latest update, it is now possible to view and access the entire range of Unicode 15.1 emojis directly from the emoji keyboard, ensuring a coherent communication experience.
In our opinion, this update not only promotes inclusivity in messaging but also underscores their commitment to providing a consistent user experience across different platforms. The timing of this update is particularly significant as iOS 17.4 has recently been released, granting more iOS users receive and access to these emojis. With a growing number of iOS users now capable of sharing Unicode 15.1 emojis, WhatsApp is responding by making them readily available for all Android beta users as well.
New emojis from the latest Unicode 15.1 are available to some beta testers that install the latest update of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store. Make sure to install this update to experiment with them from the emoji keyboard.
