In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.5.5 update, we announced that WhatsApp was working on favorite contacts to quickly place calls. This enhancement aims to enhance the process of reaching out to the most important contacts and groups by integrating some shortcuts within the calls tab. While this feature is still in development, the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.6.4 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, reveals that WhatsApp is actively refining this feature by including the ability to choose and manage their favorites.
As you can see in the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is currently in the process of developing a feature to choose and manage their favorites, for a future update of the app. Once selecting their favorite contacts and groups, these will be listed in a new section where users can call them with ease, facilitating quicker access to their most important connections. In addition, WhatsApp will provide users with the flexibility to organize this list by implementing a drag-and-drop feature, enabling them to easily reorder their favorites according to their preferences.
In our opinion, this enhancement represents a significant advancement in enhancing user convenience and efficiency when connecting with their most essential contacts and groups. By introducing the ability to choose and manage favorites, WhatsApp will provide users with a powerful tool to prioritize their most important contacts and groups, ensuring that they are always just a tap away within the calls tab. Thanks to this feature, users will no longer have to scroll through the entire contact list to find their favorite contacts and groups. Instead, they will easily be able to navigate through the favorites section and promptly initiate calls, saving valuable time and effort.
The feature to choose favorites is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. We will share an additional article once we have further details about this feature.
