TRANSFER CHANNEL OWNERSHIP
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.2.17 update, we announced that WhatsApp was working on a new feature to allow users to transfer the ownership of their channels. This feature is designed to offer users more flexibility and control over their channels, allowing them to hand over administrative responsibilities to other users when needed. After installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.4.22 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out the transfer channel ownership feature to some beta testers!

As you can see in this screenshot, a new option is available within the channel settings screen to allow the current channel owner to initiate the transfer process by selecting a new owner from the list of eligible users. Once the new owner accepts the transfer request, they will assume full administrative rights over the channel, including the ability to manage channel settings and info. It's important to note that the new channel owner will also gain the ability to delete the channel, dismiss other administrators, and control the content posted within it.
In our opinion, this feature presents several advantages as it enhances administrative tasks by allowing users for transitions of ownership, ensuring continuity and efficiency within channels. This feature is recommended when channel owners need to delegate administrative tasks due to time constraints, changing priorities, or other personal reasons. In addition, it can be useful in scenarios where channel owners manage their channels using two separate WhatsApp accounts, possibly for personal and professional purposes, and wish to switch the channel owner role between them effortlessly.
The feature to transfer the channel ownership is available to some beta testers that install the latest updates of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
