CHANNEL REPORTS
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.26.6 update, we announced that WhatsApp was introducing a channel alerts screen. Reports within the channel alerts screen are designed to notify channel owners of important violations by providing real-time notifications to channel administrators regarding the status of their channels, providing them with a more transparent view of any potential issues. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.3.31 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on bringing a feature to access channel reports from the app settings:
As you can see in the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is in the process of developing a feature to allow users to access channel reports from the app settings, for a future update of the app. The designated section within the app settings will comprehensively list all reported channels along with their updates, providing users with insights into the outcomes of reports they have previously submitted to the moderation team.
In our opinion, the introduction of a feature allowing users to access information about all reported channels and their outcomes will provide significant benefits to all users. Users will acquire a more profound understanding of the platform's content moderation process by reviewing the outcome of their reports, enhancing the transparency and effectiveness of the entire moderation system. In addition, we believe that as users observe the results of their reports, they are likely to feel more confident and motivated to continue reporting inappropriate content, contributing to keep the platform safe.
The feature to access a list of all channel reports is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. We have plans to share a new article when we have further details about this feature to share with you.
