CREATE GROUP CHAT AND COMMUNITY
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.24.14 update, we announced that WhatsApp was rolling out a redesigned interface for the communities tab. This redesigned interface introduces a cleaner and more intuitive layout that significantly enhances user navigation and accessibility. With a more compact design, users can now view more communities on a single page, reducing the need for excessive scrolling and allowing them to locate specific communities or group chats with ease. It seems WhatsApp continues to explore new enhancements to refine the interface for the communities tab, aiming to further improve its usability. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.25.26 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a feature to simplify group chat and community creation!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring the implementation of a new feature to bring some creation tools to the Chats tab. Specifically, WhatsApp is now testing two different banners for the communities tab, aiming to guide users to create communities, groups, and more from the Chats tab. The first message highlights the effort to centralize the creation process for communities and groups directly from the Chats tab. Similarly, the second message reinforces this new feature by pointing out the simplicity of managing everything from a single location.
This approach aims to reduce complexity for users by consolidating creation tools in the Chats tab in the future. As a result of this change, WhatsApp will remove the floating action button from the communities tab, as users will no longer be able to create a community directly from there. The decision to move the creation tools to the Chats tab helps WhatsApp simplify navigation and creating a unified space for initiating new chats, groups, and communities. In addition, this change will enhance the usability of the communities tab by allowing users to focus on managing and navigating existing communities. Without the floating action button, users will experience a cleaner and less crowded interface within this tab, making it easier to find and engage with their community group chats.
A feature to simplify group chat and community creation is under development and it will be available in a future update. We will keep you updated with an additional article as soon as we have more details to share about this feature.
