NEW COMMUNITIES TAB INTERFACE
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.13.3 update, we announced that WhatsApp was working on a clearer interface for the communities tab. This interface would make it easier for users to navigate through communities and access the group chats within them. It appears that WhatsApp is testing this feature with the public, as some beta testers reported a new interface for the communities tab. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.24.14 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out a redesigned interface for the communities tab!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, some beta testers can explore a revamped interface for the communities tab. With this update, WhatsApp aims to make the interface cleaner for users and easier to understand, allowing them to quickly locate the community or group chat they are looking for. This improvement is possible thanks to a more compact layout that reduces the amount of space each section occupies on the screen. Previously, users had to scroll through a lengthy list to find a specific community or group chat, as each section took up a large portion of the screen. The updated design minimizes this by displaying more communities on a single page, helping users reach their destination with fewer scrolls.
Each community section will still show recent group chats, giving users a quick view of the latest activity in each community. To make navigation even more convenient, WhatsApp has introduced a dedicated button next to each community name that allows users to view all the group chats linked to that community in a single tap. This improvement means users no longer need to open each community individually to see its group chats, enhancing the process of accessing multiple groups within a single community. This updated interface also includes a floating action button, offering users a convenient shortcut to quickly create a new community. Positioned prominently within the communities tab, this button makes the process of starting a community more intuitive and accessible, reducing the steps needed to get started.
It's worth noting that while the previous interface also had a button to view all community group chats, this button took up a significant portion of the screen, making the interface feel more cluttered. In the updated design, this button has been relocated to the same row as the community name, making it more intuitive and saving valuable screen space. By consolidating this entry point within the community row, the updated interface becomes even easier for users to navigate and understand.
A redesigned interface for the communities tab is available to some beta testers who install the latest updates of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
