ADD PEOPLE AND GROUP CHATS TO LISTS
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.18.16 update, we announced that WhatsApp is working on a feature to filter chats through custom lists. This feature will allow users to organize their conversations more efficiently by creating personalized lists of people and group chats. Once a list is created, WhatsApp will automatically generate a custom filter at the top of the chat screen, making it easier for users to quickly access specific conversations. It appears that WhatsApp is now committed to further improving this feature before the official release by making it easier for users to add their contacts and groups to lists. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.19.25 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a feature to quickly add people and group chats to lists!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring a new shortcut to quickly add people and group chats to lists, scheduled for release in a future update of the app. This button will be available within the chat info screen, making it more convenient to manage contacts and groups. Through this shortcut placed within the top app bar, users will be able to open a menu directly from the chat info screen, where they can quickly assign a person or group to a specific list. Users will also have the option to create a new list without having to navigate to the app settings, making the process faster to organize their contacts and group chats.
After adding a person or group chat to a list, it will also be accessible from the filter that WhatsApp automatically created for the chats list. This means that once a list is created and specific chats are assigned, users can easily locate those conversations by selecting the corresponding filter at the top of the chat screen in the future. It is worth noting that users will also be able to remove a person or group from a list directly from the same menu. This ensures that users maintain full control over their lists and can easily modify them as needed. The ability to manage people and groups through this shortcut will help users save time, as they won't have to go through the app settings to manage specific contacts or groups.
A feature to quickly add people and group chats to lists is under development and it will be available in a future update. We will keep you updated with an additional article as soon as we have more details to share about this feature.
