MAIN APP COLOR

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.17.19 update, we announced that WhatsApp is working on a new default chat theme feature. This feature is designed to enhance customization by allowing users to select a default theme that will automatically apply to all their chats. It seems that WhatsApp is committed to improving this feature by allowing users to further customize the appearance of the app based on their preferences. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.18.6 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a theme feature to choose the main color of the app!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring the implementation of a theme feature designed to change the main branding color of the app, scheduled for release in a future update. It appears that WhatsApp is starting to implement this feature by altering the main green color of the app in two different themes. Specifically, when using the light theme, the traditional green will be replaced by black, providing a more modern and minimalist look. Instead, in the dark theme, the main color will shift to white, creating a striking contrast that enhances readability.

In our opinion, these changes indicate WhatsApp's efforts to refresh the appearance of the app while offering users more control over their interface. While a wider set of color options announced in our article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.1.10.70 update is currently not available on Android, there is potential for it to be added in a future build. We believe that this early development suggests that the Android version could eventually receive similar customization features we previously announced for the iOS app to further enhance the user experience across all platforms in the future.

A theme feature to choose the main color of the app is under development and it will be available in a future update. We will keep you updated with an additional article as soon as we have more details to share about this feature.
