MARK ALL CHATS AS READ
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.11.13 update, we announced that WhatsApp is working on a feature to clear the unread message count. This feature is designed to help users manage their messaging experience more efficiently by providing the option to automatically reset or retain unread message notifications each time they open the app in the future. It seems that WhatsApp is exploring new tools to further improve user convenience to better manage unread chats, aiming to make interactions faster and more efficient. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.18.11 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a feature to quickly mark all chats as read!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is experimenting with a new option to quickly mark all chats as read, scheduled for release in a future update of the app. This option will be added to the overflow menu within the chats list, allowing users to easily clear unread chats in one action. While this feature has been available on WhatsApp for iOS for years, it appears that WhatsApp is finally bringing the same option to the Android app to improve user convenience and ensure a consistent experience across different platforms.
In our opinion, this new shortcut can finally help users manage their chats with ease and maintain a clutter-free interface, particularly when they have several unread chats piling up. Instead of manually opening or selecting each chat to mark it as read, users will be able to use this shortcut to clear all unread messages at once, saving time and avoiding the need to perform repetitive actions across multiple chats. As a result, we believe that this update will also be particularly useful for Android users who manage multiple chats and want a quicker way to organize their conversations.
A feature to quickly mark all chats as read is under development and it will be available in a future update. We will keep you updated with an additional article as soon as we have more details to share about this feature.
