AVATARS - CHAT INFO
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.6.8 update, we announced that WhatsApp is working on a privacy feature to decide who can use your avatar in their stickers. With this tool, users will be able to choose who can use their avatar in the future, ensuring that only trusted contacts can incorporate their avatar into stickers. Although this feature is still in development, it appears that WhatsApp is now committed to providing additional tools for customizing user profiles through avatars. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.17.10 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a feature to display avatars in the chat info screen!
As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is currently experimenting with a new feature to allow users to make their avatar visible in their profiles, scheduled for release in a future update of the app. Specifically, other users will be able to see your avatar when they swipe your profile picture in the chat info screen, providing an additional layer of personalization and identity. This feature will enhance how users represent themselves in chats by giving their contacts a quick way to view their avatar alongside their profile details. We can also confirm that this feature will be very similar to the one already available on Instagram, where avatars are displayed in user profiles.
It is worth noting that a separate avatar update is also planned for release in the future, bringing users an enhanced look to get greater customization. Users will be prompted to update to get the new look through a notification as soon as it is available. Once updated, their avatar will automatically reflect the new look, but it's important to note that users can edit it anytime to match their preferences. We believe that this update will offer users more ways to personalize how they present themselves and ensure their profile avatars remain fresh and representative of their current style.
