RECENT COMMUNITY MEDIA
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.11.20 update, we announced a feature in development to see all media shared in community group chats. Thanks to this new section, community members will have an organized overview of all images, videos, and other media files shared within the community. Although this feature is still in development, it seems that WhatsApp is now working on further refining the ability to view the media overview for all community group chats, as discovered in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.13.4 update from the Google Play Store.

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is currently in the process of developing a recent media feature for community group chats, scheduled for release in a future update of the app. Through this feature, community members will easily be able to see all recent media shared in their group chats, including which groups contain images, videos, and GIFs. It's worth noting that this section will list recently shared documents and links, providing a comprehensive view of all types of shared content. In addition, this feature will provide community members with the details about the size of their multimedia content, ensuring they can manage their storage more effectively.
In our opinion, a dedicated section for browsing media will simplify the search process, making it easier for members to locate and access shared content without having to remember which specific group chat it was posted in. Community members will benefit from this centralized location to view all recent media shared across group chats, eliminating the need to search through individual chats. Less active members will easily be able to catch up on important updates or content by accessing shared media, ensuring they stay always informed. We also believe that this feature will help users better manage their device storage by providing details about the size of recent multimedia content, as members can quickly identify and delete large files that are taking up space.
A recent media feature for community group chats is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. We will share another article once we have new information about this feature.
