NEW COLOR CHOOSER TOOL
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.10.23 update, we announced that WhatsApp was rolling out a redesigned drawing editor. The revamped drawing editor was designed to offer a more user-friendly and intuitive interface, improving the experience with drawing tools. The new drawing editor includes a bottom bar for brush and color tools, which replaces the previous top-positioned color bar to facilitate better interaction. It appears that WhatsApp is now developing additional tools to further enhance the drawing editor and provide a better experience for editing photos and videos. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.12.6 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is working on a color chooser feature for the drawing editor!
As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is currently exploring the implementation of a new color chooser tool for the drawing editor, set to be released in a future update of the app. Through this new tool, users will be able to quickly pick a specific color from the selected image, enhancing their ability to match and coordinate colors. This will be particularly useful for those users who prioritize aesthetic consistency and want to create visually cohesive edits, even for their status updates.
We believe that this feature will allow for more precise edits, making it easier for users to achieve the desired aesthetic effect in their images and videos. Although WhatsApp already offers a set of 24 colors with the new drawing editor, certain users might need to use a different color that is already available in the image. By allowing users to select and apply these specific colors, the new tool will provide greater flexibility and creative control, ensuring that every detail of their edits can be perfectly aligned with their vision.
A color chooser feature for the drawing editor is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. We will share another article once we have new information about this feature.
