HIDDEN COMMUNITY GROUP CHATS
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.10.13 update, we announced that WhatsApp was working on a feature to hide community group chats. Through this enhancement, WhatsApp aimed to enhance privacy by providing community admins with a tool to create secret group chats, ensuring they always remain hidden from the community group list. Although this feature is still in development, it appears that WhatsApp is now committed to further refining this feature by notify people about the implications of marking a community group chats as hidden. This was discovered in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.11.7 update from the Google Play Store.

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is currently in the process of implementing an alert to inform people about the implications of hiding a group chat from a community, set for release in a future update. Specifically, community owners won't be able to change this visibility setting once the group becomes hidden, to protect the entire group privacy. It's worth noting that other community admins can only find and remove the group from the community list, but won't be able to see their content without a group invite link.
In our opinion, users will gain greater control over the privacy of their group chats within communities in the future. By preventing community owners from altering the visibility setting once the group is hidden, WhatsApp ensures the privacy of group members is intact. This means that once a group is made hidden, its privacy status remains maintained, safeguarding sensitive conversations, content, and the list of group participants. We believe that this feature will also prevents unauthorized requests to join the hidden community group chat, reducing the risk of exposing it to other people who are not members of the group.
A feature to hide community group chats is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. We will share another article once we have new information about this feature.
