DESCRIPTION FOR COMMUNITY GROUP CHATS
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.11.7 update, we announced that WhatsApp is working on a feature to hide community group chats. Through this feature, WhatsApp aims to enhance privacy by allowing community admins to create secret group chats that remain hidden from the community group list. It appears that WhatsApp is committed to further enhancing the user experience with communities by asking community admins to include additional details in their groups. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.11.11 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is now working on a feature to prompt group descriptions for communities!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is exploring the possibility of asking community admins to enter a description for their group chats, set for release in a future update. Specifically, WhatsApp has plans to prompt users to add a description when creating a new group chat for their communities, providing more context and information about the group's purpose and rules. This will be useful to help new members know what to expect from the group and whether to join.
In our opinion, this feature will improve communication within the community by clearly outlining the group description and its guidelines, which helps prevent misunderstandings. It will assist in member management by allowing potential new members to decide if the group aligns with their interests and expectations before joining. In the current version, group admins need to manually add a description after creating a group, which they might forget to do. By prompting admins to enter a description during the group creation process, WhatsApp will ensure that this crucial step is not overlooked, enhancing the overall user experience and functionality of community group chats.
A feature to prompt group descriptions for communities is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. We will share another article once we have new information about this feature.
