NEW STICKER CREATION SHORTCUTS
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 24.9.10.74 update, we announced that WhatsApp was rolling out a feature to offer new sticker creation shortcuts. Through this enhancement, WhatsApp aimed to better elevate the sticker creation process, particularly enhancing user accessibility and efficiency. It appears that WhatsApp now intends to offer Android users the same opportunity to enjoy the enhanced sticker creation experience by implementing similar shortcuts and functionalities in the Android version. After installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.10.23 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is also rolling out the sticker creation shortcuts on the Android app!

As you can see from the attached screenshot, WhatsApp is now separating the usual sticker creation tool from the AI-based sticker creation feature. As occurred on the iOS app, eligible users who could create AI-generated stickers were able to access it through the same entry point used to create personalized stickers from their photo library. This might have led to some confusion as the option to create AI-powered stickers was not immediately visible, and users had to choose between these two options through a pop-up alert. It's important to note that the ability to generate AI-powered stickers is still limited to some users in certain countries. As a result, this new entry point may not be accessible to all users.
In our opinion, the new entry point to create AI-powered stickers adds a layer of convenience to the user experience. Thanks to the latest update, the ability to generate AI-powered stickers is promptly visible within the sticker keyboard, ensuring widespread awareness of this feature. This is also a simplification of the process to create stickers and it introduces distinct entry points for personalized stickers and AI-generated ones. We believe that this change helps users save time by skipping the step to choose the mode for generating a new sticker.
A feature to offer new sticker creation shortcuts is available to some beta testers who install the latest updates of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store, and it is rolling out to even more people over the coming days.
