In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.1.18 update, we announced that WhatsApp is currently working on an optional feature for businesses to add a verified badge to their channels. It appears that WhatsApp is still actively working on implementing the ability for businesses to subscribe to Meta Verified. As you can see in this screenshot, a new setting will be available within the app settings in a future update, allowing businesses to subscribe to Meta Verified and build trust with their customers by displaying a verified badge. This subscription will replace WhatsApp Premium, the previous subscription that included a custom business link and the ability to link up to 10 devices. It's worth noting that these two features will still be included in the Meta Verified subscription. It's also important to mention that the Meta Verified subscription will be optional and exclusively accessible to businesses.

While the verified badge is designed to distinguish legitimate channels from potential impersonators, businesses subscribing to Meta Verified will also see the verified badge prominently displayed on their business profile to affirm their legitimacy, as announced by Mark Zuckerberg. The Meta Verified subscription will include proactive impersonation protection, designed to quickly identify and mitigate potential impersonation threats. In addition, subscribers to Meta Verified will get access to account support services, ensuring that they have a direct channel for assistance, troubleshooting, and addressing any concerns they may encounter. The subscription will also offer additional features designed at boosting the discoverability of businesses, making it easier for customers to find and engage with them.

The Meta Verified subscription for businesses is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. As always, we are going to publish a new article when we have further information to share with you.
