REQUEST REVIEW
After releasing a feature to send alerts to channel owners in case access to their channels is restricted within certain regions, with the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.20.9 update, WhatsApp is now working on new features to allow channel owners to further review their channel status. WhatsApp channels, like any other communication or broadcasting platforms, are required to adhere to specific guidelines outlined in the channel policy. This policy serves as a set of rules and standards that state what is considered acceptable behavior and content within these channels. Channels violating this policy are subject to automatic suspension. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.25.9 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered a new feature for suspended channels:

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp is working on a new feature to allow channel owners to request a review for their suspended channels, and this ability will be available in the future. This enhancement marks a significant step towards ensuring a more transparent and equitable process for channel owners. The ability to request a review for suspended channels also aims to provide a mechanism for owners to address any discrepancies or misunderstandings that led to the suspension.
In our opinion, providing a channel review feature offers a sense of fairness to channel owners as it can finally help mitigate wrongful or accidental suspensions. Channels might face suspension due to errors or misunderstandings during the automatic review process. These automatic reviews are often conducted based on predefined algorithms or criteria to enforce platform policies. However, these algorithms, while efficient, might not always be perfect and can result in mistakes or misinterpretations. These errors could lead to the suspension of channels that, upon closer inspection and human review, might not have actually violated any policies. Allowing channel owners to request a manual review presents an opportunity to correct any inadvertent or wrong decisions, and ensure the suspended channel is finally restored.
The feature to request a review for suspended channels is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. As always, we will share a new article when we have further details about this feature.
