REQUEST A REVIEW
In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.25.9 update, we announced that WhatsApp was working on a new feature to allow channel owners to request a review for their suspended channels. Instead, with the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.25.10 update, we revealed that it will be possible to specify a reason why the channel owner is requesting a review, improving the moderation process. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.25.16 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered further improvements regarding this feature planned for the future:

As you can see in the attached screenshot, WhatsApp plans to push a channel alerts screen in case they decide to close your channel. It's worth noting that WhatsApp has already released a channel alerts screen with the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.20.9 update some months ago, but they are now working on updating the screen by including the possibility to request a review for the suspended channel. It's also important to mention that channels can currently be suspended for policy violations. However, the option to request a review will be introduced in the future.
In our opinion, the process of including the ability to request a review for a suspended channel makes the platform more transparent. WhatsApp Channels have specific policies that channel owners must adhere to when using the platform. If a WhatsApp Channel violates the platform's policies, it may face a suspension. In this case, the channel link will be disabled, current followers won't be able to see the channel history, and new updates can't be shared. However, channel owners will be prompted to request a review to ask to take another look at their suspended channels. This is important since a channel could be wrongly suspended, as algorithmic decisions may not accurately reflect policy violations upon human review. This new feature demonstrates WhatsApp's commitment to fairness, enhancing transparency by enabling channel owners to present their case for human review and correcting any inaccuracies.
A feature to allow channel owners to request a review for their suspended channels is under development and it will be available in a future update of the app. As always, we are going to share a new article when we have further details about this feature.
